Population Pyramids

Resources

The global population of over 7 billion is distributed around the world based on factors of natural resources, socioeconomic opportunity, political freedoms, and accessibility. The uneven distribution of people leads to implications for infrastructure, resources, and politics. Population pyramids help us analyze the growth, decline, and demographic makeup of a society. The pyramid shows data for the age and gender makeup of a specific population. You can use population pyramids to compare size of dependent populations, birth rates, death rates, gender imbalances, and life expectancy, among other things. In this review, we’ll practice understanding and analyzing different population pyramids.
