A revolution is a sudden, drastic change in something- that couldn’t be more true with the way we have changed agriculture in the 1900s. The Green Revolution, started by Norman Borlaug, helped alleviate hunger in some of the poorest, most rapidly growing populations of the world, and once again proved Malthus wrong- at least for the time being! We’ll discuss the implications of the Green Revolution (Third Agricultural Revolution) and we’ll also take a quick look at the use of Genetic Modification in agriculture.
