"Competing Maritime Empires, 1450-1750 CE" introduces and explains the rise of European powers to both Atlantic Ocean Trade and Indian Ocean Trade. Mercantilism is explained. Maritime Exchange Networks from the Portuguese and the Ottomans, as well as the British, French, Dutch and Spanish are illustrated. The Columbian Exchange and the Atlantic Slave Trade are provided, including additional maps and statistics to assist learners. Syncretic religions that arise from the Columbian Exchange and Indian Ocean Trade are explained with examples. An SAQ example for Syncretic Religions is at the end for use by all viewers.
