Manifest destiny and Its Impact - Slides

This stream started with discussion of President John Tyler who is also known as the president without a party. Then we defined Manifest destiny which is the idea that it is the God-Given right of the American people to spread their democracy on the whole American continent. Then we discuss the Presidency of President James K Polk who championed the idea of Manifest destiny. He not only succeeded in obtaining the entirety of Oregon but he also won the Mexican American war and acquired half of Mexico's land.
