Anatomy and Physiology I
The 40S subunit is one of the two subunits that make up the eukaryotic ribosome, which is responsible for the translation of messenger RNA (mRNA) into proteins. The 40S subunit is the smaller of the two subunits and contains the decoding center where the anticodon of the transfer RNA (tRNA) interacts with the codon of the mRNA during protein synthesis.
congrats on reading the definition of 40S. now let's actually learn it.
