The derivative of a function y(x) with respect to x, denoted as y'(x), represents the rate at which the function is changing at a particular point.
Tangent line: A straight line that touches a curve at only one point and has the same slope as that point on the curve.
Rate of change: A measure of how much one quantity changes in relation to another quantity.
Differentiation: The process of finding derivatives, which allows us to analyze rates of change and slopes.
