Social Environments

Definition

Social environments refer to the immediate physical and social setting in which people live or in which something happens or develops. It includes the culture that individuals exist in, as well as the people and institutions they interact with.

Culture: This refers to the shared beliefs, customs, practices and social behavior of a particular group or society. It's like the rulebook that guides how members of a group interact with each other.

Social Norms: These are unwritten rules about how to behave in society or in particular social groups; akin to an invisible guide on 'how things are done' within certain groups.

Institutions: Established organizations or foundations, especially those dedicated for public service such as education, health care etc.; similar to established structures or buildings providing specific services within our 'garden'.
