Definition

The Ancient Egyptian civilization refers to the society that thrived along the Nile River valley from around 3100 BCE until Egypt's conquest by Alexander the Great in 332 BCE. It was known for its advanced agricultural techniques, monumental architecture (such as pyramids), hieroglyphic writing system, and complex religious beliefs.
