Definition

Intersectionality refers to the understanding that individuals can experience multiple forms of oppression and discrimination simultaneously, based on their intersecting social identities such as race, gender, class, and sexuality. It recognizes that these different aspects of a person's identity cannot be examined in isolation but rather interact and shape each other.
