Marxism-Leninism: This is a political philosophy that combines Marxism (the social, economic, and political theories of Karl Marx) with Leninism (Vladimir Lenin's additions to these theories). It advocates for proletarian revolution and the establishment of a dictatorship by workers.
Mao Zedong: He was one of the founding members of the CCP and its leader from its establishment until his death in 1976. Mao led China through radical changes with campaigns such as The Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution.
People's Republic of China: This is the official name for mainland China which was established in 1949 following victory by Mao Zedong’s communist forces over Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalists during Chinese Civil War.
