The medieval feudal system was a hierarchical social structure prevalent in medieval Europe. It involved land ownership being granted by lords (nobles) to vassals (knights) in exchange for military service and other obligations. This created a pyramid-like structure with kings at the top followed by nobles, knights, peasants/serfs at the bottom.
