Definition

The New Deal was a series of programs, public work projects, financial reforms, and regulations enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States between 1933 and 1939. It aimed to provide relief for the unemployed and poor, recovery of the economy during the Great Depression, and reform of the financial system to prevent a repeat depression.
