Civil Rights Movement: A struggle for justice and equality for African Americans that took place mainly during the 1950s and 1960s. It sought to end racial segregation and discrimination against black Americans and secure legal recognition and federal protection of their citizenship rights as provided in the U.S. Constitution.
Feminist Movement: A series of campaigns for reforms on issues such as reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women's suffrage, sexual harassment and sexual violence. The goals of these changes were to free women from oppression and male supremacy.
Labor Movement: An organized effort on the part of workers to improve their economic status and working conditions through collective bargaining with employers. This includes efforts to form labor unions.
