Definition

Personality disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by enduring patterns of behavior, cognition, and inner experience that deviate significantly from the expectations of an individual's culture. These patterns are inflexible, pervasive across many situations, lead to distress or impairment, and are stable over time.
