Carl Bernstein is an American journalist who, along with Bob Woodward, played a crucial role in uncovering the Watergate scandal that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. Bernstein's investigative reporting, combined with Woodward's, exposed the Nixon administration's involvement in the 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters and the subsequent cover-up.
