Alliance: An alliance refers to a formal agreement or partnership between two or more parties, usually with a common goal. The USA and France had an important alliance during the American Revolution.

Treaty of Alliance (1778): The Treaty of Alliance signed between France and America solidified their mutual support against Britain. It established that if either party was attacked, both would come to each other's aid.
